Making The Grab

Tuesday night crews trained on dragging patients and firefighters with webbing and by hand. Most of the time when a patient has to be rescued the patient is wearing clothes that are not meant to be dragging them with. Learning to use different technics and equipment to drag a patient helps us to be more well-rounded.

Our mission is to learn what we need to in the event that we are put in a situation to rescue a patient. Staying low to keep the patient out of the super-heated gases and smoke increases the chances of patients making it or not. The Firefighter Carry over the shoulder looks good on TV but is not always the best for the patient.
