Each position requires some type of training. Once you decide what you can offer, our training staff will go discuss with you what training is required. After making the decision to join, download our application below. Once you have filled out the application, you may hand deliver your application to Chief Day at Station 91 (67 Fire Department Avenue Argyle, FL).
The Argyle Fire Department Board of Directors meets every first Monday of the month. After delivering your application you will be required to attend an interview with the Board of Directors and Fire Chief. After submitting an application, Chief Day will notify you of your scheduled interview date.
After a successful interview, you will be required to complete a minimum of 90 days of probation. During probation, new members receive training covering all aspects of becoming a member with the AVFD. New members, or Green Horns, will spend time learning the basics of driving emergency apparatus, responding to calls, daily duties of a firefighter, and much more!
