Argyle VFD and Friends of Liberty Volunteer Fire District teamed up last night to do Vent Enter Isolate Search (VEIS) training.

Doing VEIS is a training tailored to saving lives. Doing this training is for searching possibly occupied rooms within a structure. This can be done with or without a hose line. Firefighters knock out/open a window or door (Venting) enter in through a window or door (Enter) go across the room and shut the door so it slows the heat, fire and smoke in the room (Isolate) and the search the room for a possible patient (Search).

Always remember to shut doors. It can mean saving your life.
